Review Mazda rumored to use laser-ignition for next-gen rotary.

Here are Mazda Kabura Concept. Developer’s Mazda is reporting that the next-generation rotary engine from Mazda may turn to a laser ignition system instead of traditional spark plugs. The report supposedly comes straight from the mouth of a shadowy senior engineer within the program. Mazda has been hard at work on the 16X Renesis rotary since around 2007 and the engine has seen quite a few evolutions over the intervening years.

Developer’s Mazda says that the design has seen displacement swell from 1.3 liters to 1.6 liters and that at least some parts of the engine have been designed to be made from aluminum to further reduce weight.

The work is in an effort to get the rotary to be more fuel efficient and provide more torque, the latter not usually being a chief attribute of this type of engine. According to Developer’s Mazda, using a high-temperature laser ignition system would allow engineers to tune the Wankel to run leaner than systems that use a conventional spark plug. It would also reportedly allow the engine control module to more accurately adjust and monitor timing.

2011 Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet. The new 2011 Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet is a full hybrid car with unique transparant polycarbonate roof. The Lexus LS 600h will serve Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco to Ms. Charlene Wittstock on Saturday 2nd July 2011.

The Royal Wedding LS 600h L is finished in Midnight Blue livery paint, a very elegant car which was applied manually by using multiple layers of a measure, ecological water-based paint.

The roof is a unique and single, lightweight polycarbonate shell, and only 8 mm thick and weighs only 26 kg. Attached to the frame in two parts Lexus dealer, gives perfect visibility both inside and outside the vehicle.

On the wedding day, the Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet be used by the royal couple to visit the Principality after the ceremony. The tour will lead the from the Palace on the Rocher down to the harbour, and then along Boulevard Albert I up to the Sainte-Devote Church. For most of this trip, the car is operating in full zero emission mode, driving under the power of the electric motor.
